Sherman Robertson
Though associated with Texas, Sherman Robertson was born October 27, 1948, in Breaux Bridge, LA where the Robertsons were sharecroppers. The family moved to Houston's Fifth Ward after Robertson's father returned from World War II, now a mechanic, looking for broader, brighter horizons. Sherman was one and a half years old. Inspired to pick up a guitar after seeing country western star Hank Williams on television, Robertson's first public performance was at age 13. Robertson has played with such greats as Bobby "Blue" Bland and Clifton Chenier, among others.
